To the Zionist right
Please stop saying that there is no such thing as Palestinians. There are Palestinians. The people walking around in kafiahs who are speaking Arabic aren't Norwegians.
And they aren't Jordanians. At least some aren't. Some are Israelis: Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel. Some aren't. But if they self define as Palestinians, they are Palestinians.
I'm sure you are infuriated when people deny that the Jews aren't a national or ethnic group and don't deserve a state. I know I am. Jews think it is a chutzpah for outsiders to tell us how to think of ourselves. I don't know the Arabic word for chutzpah, but I'm sure there is one.
Please stop saying that there was never a political entity by the name of Palestine or people known as Palestinians. Your argument doesn't cut it.
Yes, there was never a national group called "Palestinians." Now there is.
It was Theodore Herzl, the founder of modern political Zionism who defined a nation as "a group of people with a common historical and ethnic background force to unite due to the existence of common enemy." That definition applies to Arab people living in the area who did not self define as Palestinian but now do.
That is the reality. You may not like it but you won't be able to wish it away.
You want only one state? Be very careful. You might get what you wish for. And you may not like it.
After the First Zionist Congress Herzl wrote: "At Basel, I created the Jewish State." He didn't realize it, but he created the Palestinian one as well.
