Abbas says he won't recognize Israel as a Jewish state. But nations have always self-defined and Israel's character or charter isn't his call.
Palestine will undoubtedly be an Islamic/Arab state Should Israel say otherwise?
Israel has a large Arab minority. They vote and hold office. Palestine, like Jordan, will have no Jews whatsoever-both have been, or will be, ethnically cleansed of Jews. In using the term "ethnic cleansing," I am not being "cute" by including "settlers" but make reference to historic Jewish communities which were in the West Bank, Transjordan and Gaza, some of which were hundreds of years old.
Israel like most other countries, is an ethnic state - with minorities. France is an ethnic French state. Germany is an ethnic German state. Flags of dozens of countries have either Islamic symbols or crosses. Palestine will be an ethnic state and, unlike Israel, will be a theocracy. Turkey is an ethnic Turkish state with minorities, such as Greeks, Armenians and Kurds. Turkey has a religious symbol in its flag. Is this about to change?
Sorry, the world's only Jewish state in 2000 years will remain so. Take it or leave it.
