People, even the brightest, have a propensity to look for "solutions" to problems. We are born "fixers." Wisdom is understanding that sometimes there aren't solutions and that the very best we can hope for is to manage problems, not ״solve" them. A one state "solution" is no solution at all. It will quickly deteriorate into civil war, like the ones in Lebanon and Syria. There will be massacres and ethnic cleansing. We will be nostalgic for the way things were before this "solution" was imposed.
Not all that long ago, we had a single state. It was called the British Mandate. It was bad for the Jews and it was even worse for the Arabs. That is why the UN, in 1947, recommended partitioning Palestine into a Jewish and Arab state. The Jewish State became Israel. It is time for a Palestinian state. This isn't a "solution", but it might be an effective way to manage the ongoing problem.
